Chinook Chinook (Spring, Tyee, King Salmon, Blackmouth) Juveniles Jacks, Jackspring Usually black spots on all of tail and back. Black gums at base of teeth. Flesh colour varies from red, pink, orange, white, or can be a marbling of all these colours. Chinook live from 3 to 7 years, with a weight ranging from 3 to 70 lbs. Coho Coho (Silver Salmon) Juveniles Bluebacks, grilse. Usually few black spots on back and top lobe of tail. White gums at base of teeth. Flesh colour is red or orange/red. Coho usually live for 4 years, with a weight ranging from 3 to 30 lbs. Sockeye Sockeye (Red Salmon) Kokanee (Landlocked Sockeye) Few if any spots on back or tail, blue/silver back, glassy eye, and toothless mouth. Flesh colour is red. Sockeye live from 4 to 5 years, with a weight ranging from 4 to 14 lbs. Pink Pink (Humpback) Oval spots on tail and spotted back, and small scales. Flesh colour is pink. Pink live 3 years, with a weight ranging from 3 to 12 lbs. Chum Chum (Dog) Few if any spots on tail, white tip to anal fins, and mouth lining is white. Flesh colour is pink or white. Chum live 3 to 5 years, with a weight ranging from 3 to 20 lbs.
